Hard Skills / Experience
- 7–10+ years of experience in backend or data engineering, including designing and operating large-scale data pipelines.
- 2+ years experience in a leadership role (tech lead, architect, or team lead).
- Deep knowledge of query optimization, data schemas, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), including deployment, scaling, and observability.
- Experience working with large-scale databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, ideally in Node, Python, Java, or Scala, with Typescript knowledge being essential.
- Track record of shipping resilient, production-grade systems.
Leadership / Strategic Thinking
- Ability to identify technical risks and bottlenecks, and proactively drive long-term improvements.
- Advocates for technical excellence, owning quality, documentation, and observability.
- Experience collaborating with product teams to integrate engineering constraints and trade-offs into product roadmaps.
- Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives with other engineering teams.
- Autonomous, self-driven, and capable of managing or mentoring other engineers.
Bonus Points
- Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical/OLAP databases.
- Familiarity with data streaming / real-time pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Flink, etc.).
- Prior experience in early-stage or fast-scaling environments.
Requirements
- This is an on-site role, open to 5 days a week.
- Based in Tel Aviv
