ClickHouse and Hud bring Runtime Intelligence to AI-Powered Software Development

Together, the products help engineering teams assess AI-generated changes, verify releases, and resolve production issues faster.

New York, 13th of August – Hud today announced that it has developed a ClickHouse integration designed to support investigation and review workflows across the AI software development lifecycle.

AI now generates or assists with 42% of the code developers ship, and that share is expected to reach 65% by 2027. As coding agents generate changes faster, the challenge is shifting from producing code to understanding which changes are safe to ship and how they will behave in production.

ClickStack, ClickHouse’s open-source observability stack, helps teams understand when and where something broke. Hud’s Runtime Code Sensor helps them understand why, how to fix it, and whether a risky change should be allowed into production in the first place.

Two Layers, Stronger Together

ClickStack provides broad visibility across applications and infrastructure, helping teams identify the service, deployment, or endpoint behind an issue.

Hud operates at the code layer, connecting production behavior to the functions and code changes responsible for it.

The two platforms can be connected by a coding agent using shared trace IDs, allowing engineers to move directly from an issue in ClickStack to the relevant code-level context in Hud.

From Detection to Resolution

Many production issues begin as small changes: a query slows down, a code path consumes more resources, or a function behaves unexpectedly under a specific workload.

Hud detects these issues at the function level and provides the deep forensic context needed to understand their cause. ClickStack adds the wider operational picture across the application.

Together, the platforms help teams move from detecting an issue to understanding and resolving it faster.

The Hud+ClickStack integration also supports AI-powered engineering workflows, including:

  • Pre-deployment risk assessment for code changes
  • Release verification,  auto-reverting upon regression, and creating a PR to fix the underlying issue 
  • Automated detection and investigation and code-level fixes, with agentic workflows to automatically create fix PRs
  • Rollback and remediation workflows

Runtime intelligence acts as a gate for AI-generated changes. Changes can be evaluated against real-time data on how the affected code behaves in production, allowing higher-risk changes to be held for additional review with deep additional context, while safer changes move faster or auto-merged.

Building a Production-Aware AI SDLC
